So it's that time again. I got my book of the month for March. I received it in the mail a few days ago. Honestly, for me, the selection this month wasn't great. But I did find 1 book interesting enough to choose. If I hadn't found anything, I would have chosen another book from the site, which you can do, or just skip the month and keep the credit.

I chose The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth. When I read the synopsis, it seems really interesting. So it's on my TBR bookshelf. LOL. I have so many books on my TBR on my bookshelf and my Kindle Unlimited. If you chose this for your BoTM, then you'll get it early. Otherwise, this officially releases on April 4, 2023.

Sorry I haven't posted anything in the last 2 days. I didn't really have any idea what to post at the time. But I got my Book of the Month box on 2-9-23. I didn't get a chance to write this post on Friday, so I worked on it over the weekend to post it today. So what did all of you choose for your book of the Month for this month? I chose The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz. This month's selection really didn't interest me all that much. I almost skipped this month. I was kind of interested in Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn, which I might still get eventually. Then I saw The Writing Retreat. The synopsis sounded interesting and it's a thriller. So I figured I couldn't go wrong with choosing this one. I'll post the synopsis in case you're interested in it.

So I got my book of the month for this month. There were 3 on the list I wanted to choose from but I couldn't afford an add-on, so I just picked one.  If you don't know what Book of the Month is. It is a monthly subscription that allows you to pick a book from a selection they curated. You have a few days to make your selection. You can choose to have add-ons. You can choose up to 3 add-ons. It is $15.99 a month. You don't have to choose a book if there isn't anything you like that month. You can save the credit for next time or choose another book from previous months. It says you can skip a month, which you can. But you will still get charged. Just the credit will be saved. Each add-on is $15.99 for the first few months. Then once you have been a member for a little bit, it will reduce to $10.99 per add-on.  I do enjoy the BoTM subscription, as the selection each month is usually new books that haven't been released quite yet. I chose The Reunion by Kayla Olson. The 2nd book I really wanted to get was Lunar Love by Lauren Kung Jessen and the 3rd book was What Lies in the Woods by Kate Alice Marshall. Both seemed really good. The selection this month was pretty good. Those were the 3 I was interested in. But ultimately I chose The Reunion.

Doesn't that seem good? It does to me. Lol. It seems to be a rom-com, so I think that will lift my spirits temporarily. Well, when I read this, it will. Lol. It states this is the editor's best romance. So I guess we'll see about that.

Here's my "Book of the Month" for August. I chose Girl, Forgotten by Karin Slaughter. I chose this because it sounded really good. It is a mystery murder thriller. She is the author of the book "Pieces of Her", which is now a Netflix series. I haven't watched it yet. But I will! I'm just thinking I might read the book first before starting the Netflix series..Anways..back to this..

Here's my "Book of the Month" for September. I chose Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood. It is a romantic comedy. The synopsis sounded really cute. I haven't read it as I just got it in the mail a few days ago. But it's on my list to read.

Bee lives by a simple rule, "What would Marie Curie do?". Her equipment goes missing, and the staff is ignoring her. Bee finds her career is in a bit of a pickle. Lee is tall, dark, and eye piercing. Possibly Bee's archenemy. Bee can see Levi is turning into a softening ally. I'm not sure how else to describe this..You'll just have to read the synopsis. It says it all.

Now back to the book, what you're really here for. Haha! I really enjoyed it! It's a quick read. I read it back in July, I think. Lol. It was a cute, witty, funny story. Jack is such a charming guy. Hannah can be a bit too serious. Hannah is a bodyguard, and the company she works for is hired to protect Jack. Jack is a famous actor, who is taking time off to visit family. So the company appoints Hannah to be his bodyguard. Jack talks Hannah into being his "pretend girlfriend" for a couple of reasons. Hannah starts to lighten up around him. Several events start to unfold, and secrets come out. If you want to know more, then you'll just have to read it. I know it's a short review, but I don't like spoiling major stuff for people who haven't read it.
