Colourpop - Super Shock Highlighers

Colourpop – Super Shock Highlighters

I love these highlighters! They are beautiful! Believe me, they are! You’ll see some pics later on. These are a cream to powder formula. Just like their super shock shadows. I only own 5 shades right now. I really want their powder highlighters. I REALLY want their new “In-nude-endo” highlighter palette!!! I’ve heard so many good things about that one. It just recently launched.

Anyways, these highlighters are so nice! They apply beautifully! Even over powder too. Well it worked on me. It didn’t bunch up or look weird when I applied it after setting my foundation with powder ( I forgot to apply the highlighter before the setting powder.) LOL. I tend to do that often. These are so creamy but feels powdery as well. But not in a bad way either. I would have to say these are one of my top favorite highlighters. Which is saying a lot because I have quite a few, and I do love them all. These do emphasize my pores or any textures on my skin. It just gives you that natural glow if you want it more subtle. But you can build it up to give you more of a BAM highlight. Here are swatches of the ones I have.

                                                            Swatches from left to right
Smokin' Whistles, Flexitarian, Wisp, Lunch Money, High Five

Wisp is a little dark on me but it’s beautiful on the eyes too. I can use a very light hand when I have more of a tan. High Five is beautiful, but can be a little too pink on me if I’m not careful. But it’s so beautiful! Lunch Money, Flexitarian, and Smokin’ Whistles are my faves. Flexitarian is a BAM highlight. You can to tone this one down a bit, then I would recommend using a highlighter brush or for more intense use your fingers. It’s gorgeous! So are Lunch Money, and Smokin’ Whistles – these are the most natural on me, but the intensity can be built up as well. You can see from the swatches that they are all beautiful! If I ever get my hand on the new highlighting palette ( In-Nude-Endo palette) then I’ll do a review on that one too, or anything I get that’s new. I still have a few more posts on my Colourpop collection. I think the only ones that’s left are my lip products and pressed eyeshadow. So please stay tuned for those! So if you can get your hands on these highlighters, then go get them! I’ll provide a link below to the site.

Colourpop - Super Shock Shadows

Colourpop – Super Shock Shadows

Let’s talk about the Colourpop super shock shadows I own. I have a total of 9 shades. I LOVE them all! You will see what shades I own here shortly. These are a cream to powder formula. They are pigmented and crease-proof. There is never any fallout, well at least not on me. They don’t fade on me either. They apply beautifully with my finger or a synthetic brush. But it pops out more if you use your finger.

Here are swatches of all 9 I have.

                                                              **Swatches from left to right**
Flower Shop, LaLa, Belladonna Lily, Cheeky, Wattles, Tea Party, Fringe, Catnap, and Party of Five

The swatches are just a 1 time swipe. That's how pigmented they are! These lasts about 8 hours or so without fading on me. If I use more than 1 color on my eyes, and they blend together beautifully. You can see the multiple colors, and its not muddied together. Once again I am a powder girl, but I do love using these occasionally. As you can probably see I use some color more than others. I don’t use the teal colors very much, but I use the others often. My faves are Party of Five, Fringe, Wattles, LaLa, and Tea Party. Aww hell, who am I kidding?! I can’t choose my faves. I love them all! LOL.. If you want to purchase some yourself. Here's the link.

I have more Colourpop products coming up! I still have the pressed eyeshadows, super shock highlighters, and the lip products to go.

BareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor

BareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor

Let’s talk about the Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor by BareMinerals. I own 6 shades. There are 20 shades in the line. I do hope that BareMinerals will expand the line. I LOVE them! These are soooo comfortable! They are not drying at all. They feel like velvet on the lips. They are not transfer-proof. What I mean by that is if you were to drink something, the lip color will show up on the cup. But they do last a long time, and leave a beautiful stain on the lips. You can reapply them easily. They don’t bunch up or do anything weird when reapplying.

The texture/consistency is a liquid, mousey, whipped. It’s kind of hard to explain. It’s not as mousey at Ofra Liquid lipsticks. They don’t dry down fast. If fact, they only dry down a little. They don’t completely set. Which is why I say they are not transfer-proof. Which is also why they are so comfortable on the dry.  Here are the swatches of the shades I own. I did buy these myself. I collected them over time.
Shades names left to right
Infamous, Bo$$, Friendship, Cookie, Weekend, and Naughty

Beautiful aren’t they?!

Once again these are matte. These are mostly nudie shades. Oh! I forgot to mention the smell! These smells so good! Well at least to me it does. These kind of smell like vanilla cake or cookies or some sort of baked goods.

Infamous – is a mid-tone pinky nude
Bo$$ - is a dirty pink beige – This does appear slightly darker on the lips after applying than it looks in the tube
Friendship – is a antique rose
Cookie – is a soft melon pink – This is my least favorite only because it washes me out. It’s a beautiful color. I like mixing this shade with some other shades I have to get a custom shade.
Weekend – is a nude honey pink peach
Naughty – is a kind of a blue base red – This was limited edition shade.

I use these all the time. I hope to eventually get more shades. I might during the Sephora VIB sale coming April ( if they still have one this year). These are one of my favorite liquid lipsticks. Yes I do have other favorites from other brands. If you would like to hear about those, please feel free to let me know. Here are the links to where you can get them. If you would like to order them directly from BareMinerals, then please click on the banner link on the left side of my blog. Oh Also you should sign up for Ebates if you do online ordering. BareMinerals Eyeshadow Palettes I Own

BareMineral Palettes I Own

I wanted to talk about the 2 BareMineral eyeshadow palettes I have. I love them both! I want to get more. They have 1 they sell exclusively on QVC that I want, but I can't get it right now. They have a few new ones out I want as well. I want them all!! LOL. I don’t think you can get these anymore, but I will look and provide links if I do. I still want to talk about these anyways. I love BareMinerals. Their products are skin loving products just like It Cosmetics (Which I love as well!). The shades in these palettes are natural. These can provide you a day to night time looks. You can do so many looks with these. The texture/consistency of the shadows is so buttery, and smooth. They apply so well on lids, and blend like a dream. They are very pigmented. The matte shades are not patchy whatsoever. The shimmer shades are very pigmented as well, and look beautiful on the lids. When you get some of the product on the brush and then spray it with some water or whatever you have, it makes the shadow pop even more. You can even apply the shimmer shades with your finger as well. Here are what the palettes look like.

1st palette - The Wish List palette            2nd palette - The Hidden Treasure palette

I think these are beautiful palettes! Sorry if they seem so dirty. LOL. It shows that I use them. You can see which colors I use the most. The packaging is slim enough that you could travel with them as well. You can take one of them or both if you have the space for them. Each of them alone has all the shades you would need. You wouldn’t need to take anything else with you. I have swatched some of the shades from each palette. I didn’t swatch them all, just enough to show you how pigmented and smooth they are.

1st set is from The Wish List palette     2nd set is The Hidden Treasure palette

Sorry for the slight blurriness. It’s hard taking pictures of your own arm with 1 hand. LOL. And no I don’t have a tripod either.

But I think you can tell just enough how beautiful these are. These aren’t patchy at all. Like I said they blend so nicely. Every look I have done with these has lasted me all day. They don’t fade or crease on me. But of course I do use an eye primer too. I always do. Even if you can’t get these palettes any more, all of the palettes they come out with have always been so good and so consistent unlike some brands. I really want the new palettes they have come out with!! So if you can get your hands on some of these palette, then go get it! Their quad palettes are great too! I use to have some, but used them up. Which made me purchase the bigger palettes. You can also get a 8 pan palettes for $41. They have several different range of colors. But in my opinion, it's cheaper just to spend the extra $4 to get the bigger palettes. I'll link to some below. I'll say it again..I want all the new palettes!!! LOL

Colourpop - Blushes

My Colourpop Collection - Blushes

So well I thought I would talk about my Colourpop collection. I won't be talking about everything I have from them because we'll be here for AGES!! LOL..I love Colourpop because they are so affordable, and the quality is so good! They have wonderful customer service as well! I have their some of there super shock blushes, powder blushes, super shock shadows, and their pressed eyeshadows. I have a lot of their lip products. I have their Ultra Satin lips, Ultra Matte lips ( Ones I have is the older formula. They have changed the formula a while back - which is better. I have 1 or 2 of the new formula), several of their lippie stixs and their glossy lips.

Today I'm gonna talk about their blushes. Here are the 3 I have. One is a blush/highlighter palette, and then I have 2 singles.

Singles - Left - Teasecake     Right - Tasty

I did a several swatches to ensure that the swatches would show up well on the pictures, so I can show you the full opacity of the colors. These are beautiful on the skin, and they give a natural sheen flush to the cheeks. These aren’t matte, and they aren’t glittery. They are just shimmery sheen. They have a bunch of colors. These 2 are what I own at the moment. I don’t know if I will purchase more, because I’m more of a powder blush kind of girl. They blend nicely, and aren’t patchy at all. On me, they last most of the day. When they do start to fade after a very long day, it fades evenly. They started to fade after about 8 hours or so. Which is long enough for me. They apply nicely over foundation. If you accidentally set your foundation with powder and forgot to apply this first, that’s ok. This applied nicely over it, well on me it did. I do use my fingers to apply and blend. Sometimes I use my real technique expert face brush to blend it out. It didn’t bunch up or do anything weird. Here are the swatches for the 2 singles blushes I have.
Left - Tasty   Right - Teasecake
I think Teasecake can be used as a highlighter..Umm..I haven't tried using as it as a highlighter yet. What do you guys think?

I forgot what this palette is called. There wasn’t a name on the packaging. But I love this palette. I use this more than the super shock blushes. They did release some new single blushes, and I still haven’t had the chance to get my hands on them yet. This is so beautiful! The blush gave me a nice flushed cheek color. It reminds me of a bright barbie pink. But it doesn't apply as bright on me. I go with a light hand when applying and then if I need to I’ll build the color up. That’s one of the things I love about this is that I can build up the color if I want. The highlighter next to it, is a rose gold color. I thought it would be too dark for me, but it actually isn’t! I was so happy that I could use it on my cheeks. It’s sooo beautiful!! It doesn’t emphasize pores or textures. It’s not glittery at all. There is no glitter in this one. I reach for this one and other one often. I will talk about the highlighters more in another post. I just happen to talk about this one because it’s a blush palette. Here are the swatches.

Top swatch - is the pinky blush  Bottom - Rose gold highlighter

So anyways I love all 3. I love Colourpop overall. You’re gonna hear me say this several times! LOL. So if you would like to get some for yourself, then here’s a link to their site.

Annabelle Creation

Annabelle Creation

Well let's talk about a movie this time. I watched Annabelle Creation with a friend of my mine last week on Thursday night. And boy am I glad I did not watch it alone!!! It was creepy as hell! Well just look at the cover!

                                                            See!! Isn’t it creepy?!

It even says do not open at the bottom! LOL..But seriously it was sooooo creepy!! But it was very good! My friend and I would say it was one of the best scariest movie of the year. Which is saying a lot. My friend is more of a movie critic than me. He’s very critical and hard to please when it comes to movies. Man, I kept looking away often, and I normally don’t do that. I even gasped and squealed too. They did a really good job with this one. But of course I liked the first Annabelle movie too, but that wasn’t nowhere near as scary as the 2nd one was. I would watch Annabelle first, but really you don’t have to.  Anyways, if you are a scary movie lover, then you have to watch this. I would watch it again! Well..It’ll be a while before I watch it again. It gave me the major heebie jeebies afterwards. It was worse because we watched it in the dark. LOL. Overall I really enjoyed it. If you want this movie, here are links to where you can get it.

Concealers I’m Loving Currently

Concealers I’m Loving Currently

I have 2 concealers that I want to talk about. They are both so similar and so GOOD! One is affordable and the other is a little more expensive. So here we go!

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer – I love this concealer. You’re gonna hear me say I love the other one I’ll talk about as well. But it’s true! I love them both! Anyways, back to this one. This is a little expensive, it is from Tarte of course. I have the shade fair beige. The consistency/texture is very creamy and opaque. A LITTLE amount goes a very long way!You always want to start off little anyways. The coverage is great! It covers my dark circles so well! Believe me, I have very bad dark circles under my eyes. So the fact it can cover mine is awesome! You do get quite a bit of product, and this will last you a long time. So for the price, its’ worth it to me. The applicator is a HUGE doe foot applicator. Which I actually like. This doesn’t oxides on me. It does crease a little, but if I set my under-eyes with powder, then I don’t have that issue. This doesn’t look cakey or makes my under-eyes look dry. For some people I know say this creases a little and others it doesn’t. It does feel comfortable on my skin. I use this as a spot concealer too, and it doesn’t crease anywhere else but my under-eyes. Now if you apply a lot of this, then it will crease for sure. There are 14 shades to choose from. This does lasts all day one me. I would repurchase this again in the future. Highly recommend! I will have links below where you can purchase it.

Tarte website - $27 - http://go.magik.ly/ml/96ns/

Ulta Beauty$27 - http://go.magik.ly/ml/96nw/

Colourpop No Filter Concealer – I love this concealer too! This is so similar to the Tarte shape tape. And the best part is that IT’S AFFORABLE!! It’s opaque, and covers my dark circles nicely. The texture/consistency is pretty much similar to the Tarte shape tape. Once again, a little goes a long way. You always want to start out small anyways. This does oxides on me just ever so slightly. Which I’m fine with because the shade I got ( fair neutral) is a little too light, but once I apply it then it darkens pretty much right away. Then it’s the perfect shade for me. Like I said, it darkens ever so slightly. It lasts all day on me! It does crease a little on me as well, but once again if I set my under-eyes with powder then it’s fine. I use this to conceal spots on my face as well ( if needed) and once again, it doesn’t crease anywhere else except the under-eyes. It never looks dry or cakey on me. This has a doe foot applicator as well, but nowhere near as big as the Tarte one. LOL. There are 15 shades. So if you are on a budget, then this is your jam. I will provide the link below to where you can get it. I highly recommend it. I would repurchase this one as well.
You can get $5 off your first purchase of $10 or more if you sign up for the newsletter.

Here are the swatches for both concealers.

Left - Colourpop No Filter Concealer (Fair Neutral)   Right - Tarte Shape Tape (Fair Beige)

Overall I’ve been using both for a few months now. These 2 concealers will always be my go-to concealers since all other concealers I’ve ever tried never seem to cover my dark circles fully til I found these. These just work the best on me.

Current Foundations That Didn't Work For Me

Foundations That Didn't Work For Me Currently

Well let’s talk about something I don’t like this time. I have 2 foundations that I want to talk about. Well it’s not like I don’t like them, they just didn’t work with my skin for whatever reason. I can’t make them look good. They are the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation and the Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation. I will talk about each one, and explain why I didn’t like them. I’m not bashing any of these brands. I actually love them, but these particular products just didn’t work on my skin. So please take whatever I say with a grain of salt, if you love either one or both then I’m glad you do. Everyone's skin is different. So what works for you might not always work for someone else. Please don't be afraid to try these 2 products out!

Tarte – Rainforest of the Sea foundation – This is a water foundation. It’s has ingredients that is good for your skin, and it is hydrating as well. Well I have used about a quarter of this bottle, and I STILL can’t get it to look good on my skin. My skin is normally combo (oily t-zone and some areas are dry), but right now my skin is currently dry due to the season. I’ve tried using beauty blenders and brushes, tried using different moisturizers, primers, and still can’t get it work with my skin. It barely applies on my nose. It will look good when I first apply it, but within an hour it looks like crap. It would have already started to break up, and make my face look drier than it is. Or at sometimes it just looks cakey. No matter what I did, it just didn’t work for me. I wanted to like this sooo bad! I know some people that love this, and it looks great on them. I’m so envious of you! LOL.. So bummed it wasn’t for me. I do love Tarte’s other products I have, but not this. But if you love this product, then that’s great! I’m glad it works for you! If you haven’t tried it but want to I will provide a link to some places you can get it. I will keep using it up since I did buy it. I hate to waste it. This would be one I would wear around the house til it gets used up. I hope that it works for you, and if it does then that’s great! I’m going to try another primer and moisturizer with this to see if I can get it to work for me. See, I told you I really want to like this! LOL. Also this has a dropper for getting the product out of the bottle. I know some people don’t like the dropper but it doesn’t bother me. As long I don’t have to pour out the product. A pump would be better, but that’s ok. I really want to try their new Tarte Shape Tape Foundation ( I love the concealer!).

Tarte Website $39http://go.magik.ly/ml/95u6/

Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation – I have worn this a few times, and each time I didn’t like it. It would look good for the 1st 30 mins to an hour, then it just looked awful on my skin. It made me look older! It just sat on top of my skin. So anytime I touched my face to itch a spot or whatever the foundation came completely off. Even if I set the foundation with powder. I’ve tried wearing it so many different ways, just like I did with the Tarte foundation. Someone told me to try adding a little joba oil or whatever oil I had. I have 2 different kinds, and both just made it look worse. This has a odd applicator for getting the product out. It’s not a dropper or pump or even a sponge tip applicator. It’s a spatula. Yes I say spatula. It’s weird, but it does the job. I do have other products from Wet n Wild that I love, like their blushes, some of their eyeshadows, and their highlighters. But this just didn’t work for me. I will try to use this up as well or if someone else wants it and it’s their shade I will just give it to them. If you love this product, then I’m so glad it worked for you. I wish it worked for me.  If you want to try this out or in need of another one the links will be below as usual.

Wet n Wild website $5.99http://go.magik.ly/ml/95x7/

Walmart $4.68-$5.70http://go.magik.ly/ml/95x9/

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones

I thought I would change it up today and talk about a book I read a few months back. Like I said I did read this a few months ago, but I still remember it. I absolutely LOVED it!! I can’t wait to get the 2nd one. The cover is just gorgeous!!

                                                          See!! Don’t you agree?!

If you are a fan of the movie called “Labyrinth” by Jim Henson, then you will love this. If you weren’t a fan of the movie, then I don’t know what in the world is wrong with you! LOL Just kidding. If you weren’t that’s ok too. But you might still enjoy this one, maybe. Labyrinth is one my all-time favorite movie. So when I heard about this book, I knew I had to have it.

Now it’s about a girl name Liesl and she just turned 18. She has a older sister ( If I’m remembering correctly her sister is older) and a younger brother. She helps her family run their family inn. Liesl and her brother has a love for music. Now all her life she has heard about tales of the Goblin King. The tales has always captured her mind, dreams, and everything about herself. But now Liesl can’t help but feel that her musical dreams and childhood fantasies are slipping away. One day she and her sister go to town, and her sister seems to be in sort of a trance. Then eventually her sister is taken. So she eventually faces the Goblin King.

I’m going to leave it at that..Sorry, cliff hanger I know! LOL. But if you want to know more then you’ll just have to buy the book yourself. You can currently get the hardcover anytime, but the paperback version doesn’t release til Feb.6, 2018. I will provide links below to several place to where you can get it. Once again I will state that I LOVED it! I highly recommend it! Now if you are a nook person and don’t care for physical copies, I will provide a link for that as well.
She has a sequel to this book called Shadowsong and it is set to release on Feb.6, 2018 as well. So if you are interested getting both. I will have links for this one as well. I will do a review later on this one when I get it.

January 2018 Ipsy Bag

My January 2018 Ipsy Bag

Yes, that is a candle holding up my bag. LOL..Now I will say I actually had a good bag this month. A lot of the time I’m just underwhelmed with the bag. Usually I’ll like 1 or 2 products and maybe the bag. But every now and then I’ll get a great bag. I was happy with my bag this month! Finally!! I told myself if I wasn’t happy with this month’s bag I was going to cancel it. So as of now, I won’t cancel it just yet. Ipsy is a monthly subscription that is $10 a month. Each month you will get a different bag filled with 5 samples to deluxe size products. Once in a while there will be a full size product. For example, this month I got a full size NYX lip product and a nail polish. Any time they put a nail polish it is usually always full size. Not everyone will get the same products as you. They go by your profile. But honestly I don’t feel like they follow that. Like I said before sometimes I get a bag filled with products that I’m not happy about and only finding myself liking 1 or 2 items.. I will say that I 95% of the time love the actual bags. The bags are always so cute, and I love switching out my cosmetic bags in my handbag. I will provide a link below if you want to sign up. Also I will provide the links if you would like to get your hands on a certain product as well. Each product will have several links so you can buy any place you would like to, and if any of them has a cheaper price.

The bag – It’s so cute! It’s so bright and sporty. This is a perfect spring / summer bag! The inside is also the highlighter yellow color as well.

So here’s what I got.

Pretty Woman nail polish in Johnny’s Angel – a beautiful bright blue (full size) – Haven’t use yet, but I have used other colors, and I do like these. They apply nicely. On me they don’t chip right away. But after a few days it does start to chip, but I do use my hands a lot. I also wash my hands a lot as well.

Global Beauty Care Charcoal mask – I haven’t use it yet. But I will soon.

Trust Fund Beauty Lipgasm lip balm scrub (exfoliant) – I haven’t used this yet because I already have 2 lip scrubs that I’m currently using.

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer aka The Luminizer (sample size) – I used this for the first time the other day, and I love it! It’s so pretty on the skin, and applied beautifully! It gave me a natural glow, but it is buildable if you want a BAM glow. It didn’t emphasize any texture or pores on my skin. It didn’t look glittery either. There isn’t any glitter in this. Just a beautiful shimmer.

NYX Lingerie liquid lipstick in Satin Ribbon (full size) – I did use this the other day, and not too crazy about it. I know some people love it, and some don’t. First off, the color washes me out. Meaning it makes me look dead. LOL. It apply kind of patchy as well. It is a pretty color. But I do hear that the darker neutral shades aren’t patchy. This is just what I’ve heard. This is dried down very quickly after applying, and didn’t see any transfer when I did a transfer test. But this is so sticky when I press my lips together (more sticky than the Kat Von D ones – which I love). Plus it was so drying one me. This just isn’t for me. I much prefer the NYX Liquid Seude cream lipstick, as they are much more comfortable on the lips.
